Just Because I Am
Just Because I Am
The only way to take control of your life, raise your standard of living and move beyond merely surviving is to create your own unique product or service that you offer to increasing numbers of people in exchange for the things of value that you desire. This simple formula applies to countries as well as people. A self-sufficient economy has its own products or services of value to export to the world. Similarly, a self-sufficient individual has something of value to exchange in the global marketplace. That thing of value is based on your natural talent, skill, or interest—in other words, your passion!
And now for something different....!
Consider this: Each inspiration is like a single--a brand new recording released each week. "The Silent Performer" (Walt's Friday Inspirations The Book!) is like a compilation album featuring extended versions, liner notes and a full orchestra backing mixed into each track. Today I'll play a cut to show you just what you're missing if you haven't ordered your copy of the Silent Performer CD, which stands for Creative Diary, by the way!!--Walt
A voice just declared I'm entitled to love
just because I am
No taxes, no charge just like rain from above
just because I am
I never knew that I could live without pain
that others would help me with nothing to gain
just because I am
I know now as well it's alright to want more
that heaven is not the birthright of the poor
just because I am
I learned on my own it's ok to have fun
that happiness is never depleted or done
and more can be mine still with each rising sun
just because I am
No reason is needed, don't have to justify
The biggest of dreams can be mine if I try
Just stand up and claim it and boldly state why
just because I am
It's already mine this much I should trust
It's fair and its right and in life it's a must
To have all I want and to know that it's just
....because I am!
There's a thought, feeling or story behind each Inspiration! Here is an excerpt from my personal journal, and an example of the "story" behind today's inspiration(#59), it'll give you an idea of what's in store for you in The Silent Performer (Walt's Friday Inspirations--the Book!) Enjoy! And thanks to all who've supported me along the way!
JOURNAL ENTRY [October 6, 1998]:
I love this one! It's Tuesday and I'm excited about releasing this inspiration. I got a gut feeling just now that one or more of my inspirations will get turned into a song! That would be a great way to earn residual income. I'm excited about how this one came to me, riding on a bus, pretty much word perfect! This is the zone that many creative people talk about. I hope it reaches a lot of people. I didn't really have to compose it either, it was already there waiting for me with all the rhymes and format and syntax already in place. I had already planned to release "This Time I'm the Star" this week. But, I think I'll hold off on that one and use it for the next "album".
Just Because I Am is about entitlement. It is about feeling deserving of the good things in life for no other reason than that they exist, you exist and everything that exists is a part of you just as you are a part of everything and entitled to share in it. While doing my own personal introspection, I realize that I've always been annoyed by people who acted as if they were entitled to stuff. Looking back on my own childhood, I recognize that I felt I had to earn almost everything that I was given. Our fun was rationed in finite portions and we would often be reprimanded if our fun and laughter went on for "too long". "That's enough fun, now" was something I often heard growing up. It's no wonder that I used to get embarrased by people who are too loud and boisterous in public, or by friends and partners who show too much childlike happiness, and dependence, or at precocious children who seek attention. Or at people who are so self-absorbed that they don't notice how their activities, their noise, laughter, eating, breathing, snoring were affecting others. My entire life was pretty much spent walking on eggshells for fear of reprisal and punishment. I sometimes felt guilty just for being, and never felt that I was getting rewarded just for being who I was.
Well, these days, things are different! I remind myself that I am a creative expression of the universe. An abundant universe has expressed itself as me and as a quadrillion other things. All these things and people are all of the same stuff. We are all coming from the same place and there is no order of value on any of us. What exists can be mine to use for I am of it and it is of me. I deserve to share in the expression of abundance of which I am a part! I'll repeat that one: I deserve to share in the expression of abundance of which I am a part!
There is a subtle difference between feeling entitled to have people bow at my feet for no apparent reason, and the entitlement that I'm referring to. This inspiration is about the wealth of the universe that is mine to be enjoyed that comes not from man but from a higher place. It is about the freedom, the peace and the abundance that I should feel entitled to pursue, to earn and to accept without feeling guilty or that someone else will be deprived in the process! Dream it, want it, create it, enjoy it and feel I deserve it.....just because!
